Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich must be ready to invest heavily into the club’s playing staff this summer to keep Antonio Conte content at Stamford Bridge, according to ex-Blues midfielder Samuele Dalla Bona.

The Premier League champions most recently lost out to rivals Manchester United in their attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, with the Belgian international securing a transfer to Old Trafford on Monday for a fee in the region of £75 million.
Despite spending £34m themselves on centre-back Antonio Rudiger from Roma, former Blues midfielder Dalla Bona has urged the club’s owner to make more signings to ensure Conte’s head isn’t turned away from Chelsea.
“They need to spend money for him to be successful next season and I think Roman Abramovich must get money out,” Dalla Bona told Goal.
“Otherwise they will find it too difficult to try to win the Champions League.
“Alex Sandro and Antonio Rudiger would be a great start to the transfer market. They are very strong but they will cost a lot of money. Sandro, in particular, played a great season with Juventus. They can both do it in England.”
According to Goal, Chelsea are in negotiations for Juventus’ Alex Sandro and AS Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, while they are expected to look to Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti following their disappointment over losing out on Lukaku.
