Gianluca Lapadula reveals Genoa have wanted him for a year as AC Milan exit edges closer.

Gianluca Lapadula is close to sealing his AC Milan exit after arriving for his medical with Genoa.
The striker only arrived at the San Siro from Pescara last summer and went on to make a total of 27 appearances in Serie A last term – scoring eight goals and weighing in with three assists in the process.
However, following huge transfer activity at the club so far this summer, Lapadula is set to move on to Genoa with the deal set to go ahead within the next couple of days and he’s revealed the Italian outfit have been chasing his signature for over a year.
“I am very happy,” Lapadula told Sky Sport Italia as reported by Football Italia.
“I’m certainly pleased to be here and hope to do well for this team. I said yes to Genoa because they’ve wanted me for a year.”

Andre Silva’s arrival at Milan would have surely resulted in even less game time for Lapadula had he stayed, while there’s reports that Vincenzo Montella is on the market for another striker with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti heavily linked.
Turin-born Lapadula will sign a five-year deal with Genoa and will be hoping to finally settle down after playing for 13 clubs during his professional career – seven of them being loan deals.
Gianluca Lapadula boasted a shot accuracy of 67% for AC Milan in Serie A last season.
