“It was the final straw” – Leonardo Bonucci reveals why he left Juventus

AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci admits a falling out with manager Massimiliano Allegri was the reason behind his departure from Juventus.
The 30-year-old Italian central defender recently completed a sensational transfer from Juve to the Rossoneri with many speculating why he left the perennial Serie A champions for Milan.
Speaking to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bonucci stated a series of disagreements with Allegri, culminating in being dropped for their Champions League tie against Porto, led to his exit whilst adding he’s looking forward to returning to Turin.
“To give 100 per cent, I need to feel important, something that at Juventus was recently happening only in fits and starts,” he said.
“Having discussions over the years is normal, as I am someone who is very direct and always speaks the truth.
“People thought that was the most striking thing, but in truth it was just the final straw: there had been other situations before that.
“They (the Juventus fans) ought to know that, just like the insults I received when wearing the Bianconeri shirt fired me up, it’ll be the same if they jeer me.”

As a consequence of his move Bonucci, who signed a five-year deal at the San Siro, becomes only the 11th player to represent all three of Italy’s big three clubs (Juventus, Milan and Inter Milan) following the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Baggio and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He joins having made 319 appearances for Juve, registering 22 goals and eight assist in the process, as well as winning six Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia’s.
Bonucci will also bring great deal of experience to a relatively young Milan side that under Vincenzo Montella are hoping to return to the glory days when they ruled the roost at home and in Europe.
