Juan Iturbe needs to “do more” to succeed at Roma – Eusebio Di Francesco

New Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco has called on Juan Iturbe to “do more” after disappointing in his first showing for his new manager.

It appear Iturbe is set to be given another chance to impress at Roma under Di Francesco after the winger – once touted as the next Lionel Messi – started the pre-season friendly with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old was hauled off at half-time after a poor showing though, continuing a bad run for the Paraguayan international.
Iturbe looked like he had all the makings of a top talent while with Porto and Hellas Verona but has since struggled with Roma, and during loan spells at Bournemouth and Torino.
And Di Francesco has warned the forward he expects to see him perform better, work harder and utilise his speed more effectively if he wants to force his way into the first team at Roma.
Speaking after the friendly loss to PSG Di Francesco said: “It’s too early to say, especially for Iturbe, he’s come back to us and I’m still evaluating him.

“Iturbe has only been with me for three days, he can do a lot more and he needs to make better use of the pace that he has.”
Iturbe may never have a better chance to prove himself at Roma after Mohamed Salah left the club for Liverpool. The Serie A team are in need of a right-winger, Iturbe’s natural position, and have been linked with Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City.
