“No club can say the don’t want to sign Kylian Mbappe” – Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels no club could claim not to be interested in signing Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

The France international, who shot to prominence after scoring 26 goals across all competitions last season, has been linked with several of the world’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, while Arsenal are also said to be monitoring his situation.
It is likely that any deal involving Mbappe would see him move for around £120 million, but Wenger admits that the interest in the 18-year-old is understandable.
Wenger is quoted by Goal reporters from Tuesday’s Sydney press conference: “He’s a player who just when he gets up in the morning can choose where he wants to go.
“There’s not many players who have that kind of luck because he’s 18 years of age and has a red carpet open for him.
“I believe nobody can say they are not interested in a player of that calibre.”

Which clubs are trying to sign Kylian Mbappe?

A quick, skillful and clinical player, Mbappe can be extremely difficult for opposing defenders to deal with and it will be intriguing to see whether the starlet elects to stay at Monaco, where he is guaranteed regular playing time, or instead seeks to test himself by moving elsewhere.
However, Mbappe’s game is about more than just goals, with the youngster’s link-up play also of a high standard, as demonstrated by the fact that he created 31 chances in Ligue 1 last season. As such he is the arguably the most in-demand target this summer.
Along with Arsenal and Wenger as confirmed admirers, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has admitted manager Zinedine Zidane is following Mbappe’s progress. Liverpool are another club who figure prominently in transfer reports revolving around Mbappe. Ex-Reds midfielder Vladimir Smicer, who the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, feels Mbappe could be his old club’s answer to Harry Kane or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I think we need a striker,” Smicer told the Liverpool Echo podcast in May. “Daniel Sturridge has had a lot of problems this season. I thought he would be our main striker like Diego Costa at Chelsea, Zlatan Ibrahimovic at United and Harry Kane at Tottenham.
“I like the Monaco striker Mbappe. He’s only 18, but what I’ve seen from him has been really unbelievable for such a young player. Everything looks so natural to him. I like the way he plays. He would definitely be very expensive. All the big clubs in Europe will chase him so it would be difficult to get him, but if I was the Liverpool manager I’d go for him.”
